AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will be offering free tax return preparation again this year at the Powhatan Library. Due to COVID restrictions last year they were only able to provide drop-off services for most of the season. However, this year their plan is to return to face-to-face appointments.
Please make an appointment only once you have received all your tax documents. When you come to your appointment, please bring the following items:
Prior year tax return
Social security cards for everyone on the tax return and drivers photo ID to confirm your identity
All your tax documents
Copy of a voided check for direct deposit of any tax refund
Free tax return preparation appointments will be in the large conference room of the Powhatan Library between 9:30 am and 2 pm every Wednesday and Friday beginning Wednesday, February 1 through Friday, April 14, 2023.
