Location
Powhatan County offers drop-off recycling at the Convenience Center, located at 2407 Mitchell Road (north of Anderson Highway, Route 60).
Accepted Items
Items accepted for recycling at the Convenience Center include:
Aluminum or steel cans
Cardboard
Foil products
Glass bottles and jars
Mixed paper (mail, catalogs, magazines, office/copy paper and telephone books)
Narrow neck plastic bottles (with 1 or 2 on bottom)
Newspaper and glossy inserts
Items Not Accepted
Lids or caps
Plastic bags of any kind (recycle at participating grocery stores)
Other Recycling Drop-Offs
Some area schools and fire departments also provide recycling bins for newspapers and paper.
