Where Can I Access Substance Use Treatment?
Goochland Powhatan Community Services (GPCS) provides medication assisted treatment, substance use outpatient therapy, group therapy, substance use case management, and peer recovery support. They can also help you get connected to higher levels (including detox, residential or intensive outpatient therapy) when needed. No appointment necessary! Same Day Access is available Monday thru Friday from 9:00am - 3:00pm at 3910 Old Buckingham Road. GPCS serves residents of Goochland & Powhatan counties and accepts all insurance including Medicaid, Medicare and those who are uninsured. Talk to your primary care doctor - they may be able to refer you to the appropriate treatment based on your needs.
Contact your insurance provider - by calling the number on the back of your card. They can determine which treatment providers are in-network.

My loved one is struggling with substance use - is there support available for me?
Yes! SMART Friends & Family is a peer-led group designed for friends & family members navigating addictive behaviors of a loved one. No registration necessary. Mondays at 5:00pm, 3910 Old Buckingham Road. Check-in at GPCS Front Desk.

Where can I find Naloxone (Narcan)?
There are 3 community boxes accessible 24/7 with free Naloxone and other harm reduction supplies located at:

- Huguenot Volunteer Fire Department 1959 Urbine Road, Powhatan, VA 23139
- Deep Creek Volunteer Fire Department 5631 Anderson Highway, Powhatan, VA 23139

How can I be trained on Naloxone?
Each dose of Naloxone comes with instructions attached - you can also receive additional training by:
1. Visiting our Mobile Outreach team in the community - CLICK HERE to see where they'll be!
2. Completing virtual Naloxone training HERE
3. Contacting Outreach Coordinator to schedule a 1:1 or group training session.
