The Fire Rescue Department is proud to announce two well-deserved promotions!
Captain Jeffrey Wallace (second from right) is one of the department's original six full-time hires and has fulfilled a number of operational and administrative roles during his time. He will be assigned to the role of EMS Captain, where he will oversee the department's emergency medical response, training, compliance, and quality assurance. Captain Wallace has served as a firefighter/paramedic in several localities, and is a recent graduate of the Virginia Chief Officer Academy.
Lieutenant Daniel Perkins (second from left) has served Powhatan County for over two decades as a volunteer (at the Deep Creek Volunteer Fire Department), part-time firefighter, full-time firefighter, and acting officer. In his most recent role as an acting officer, he's guided the members of his shift on their operational needs as well as managing the daily staffing for each riding position. Lieutenant Perkins currently also serves on our ladder truck committee, providing guidance and support on this important upcoming purchase.
Please join us in congratulating Captain Jeffrey Wallace and Lieutenant Daniel Perkins on their well-earned promotions within the Powhatan Fire Rescue Department! Both of these dedicated professionals have demonstrated years of service, leadership, and commitment to the safety of our community. We are proud to have them continue serving in these critical roles, and we thank them for all they do for Powhatan County.
