At their meeting last night, the Powhatan County Board of Supervisors proudly honored the Powhatan Lions Club on the occasion of its 50th anniversary with an official proclamation.
Since being chartered on March 2, 1976, the Powhatan Lions have raised and distributed more than half a million dollars to support local charities, community projects, and organizations. Their members have volunteered thousands of hours—providing scholarships, supporting the Powhatan Food Pantry, helping with community events like parades and the Festival of the Grape, and building lasting improvements such as accessibility ramps, park amenities, and more.
With 61 active members, the Powhatan Lions Club continues to embody the very best of service, generosity, and community spirit in Powhatan County.
Please join the Board of Supervisors in congratulating the Powhatan Lions Club on 50 years of outstanding service, and in thanking all members—past and present—for their dedication to our community.
