GRTC, the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT), and Powhatan County are working together to introduce LINK, a new on-demand microtransit service providing reliable public transportation in the community.
Microtransit is a zone-restricted on-demand transit service, providing connections to healthcare, education, jobs, and more simply by ordering a ride by phone or on the GRTC on the Go app.
LINK service will launch fare-free, providing new connections across Powhatan five days a week from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm starting March 25. Locations of note for drop off and pick up include but are not limited to Walmart, Stavemill Crossing, South Creek, Powhatan High School, Flat Rock Village, Powhatan Plaza, Powhatan County Public Library, Free Clinic, YMCA, Fighting Creek Park, and the Powhatan County Government
offices. The zone also provides an extension into Chesterfield County to include Bon Secours Westchester Medical Park and Westchester Commons Shopping Center.
GRTC and Powhatan will work together throughout the initial launch period to take public comments and refine service to better suit the community. More information about the service is available at ridegrtc.com/link.
